The Sports Creative Community is the largest community of creative professionals working in the sports industry. We are operated by Creatives for Creatives.

We are seeking skilled, passionate individuals to help us empower the community of creatives behind your favorite teams, leagues, athletes, and more.

SCC Board Member Application

All open board positions are volunteer positions. Remote | -5 hours per week based on your availability

  • The Director of Operations oversees SCC's internal systems and day-to-day operations serving as the organizational steward, transforming mission into action through strong systems, thoughtful leadership, and operational excellence.


    This role is responsible for managing the infrastructure that allows the organization to thrive and ensures proper compliance within the organization. Working in close collaboration with the Executive Director and leadership team, the Director of Operations brings clarity, efficiency, and accountability to daily operations while anticipating future needs. By strengthening the foundation of the organization, the Director of Operations ensures that the leadership team and programs are empowered to focus on delivering meaningful and measurable impact.



    Role/Responsibilities:

    • Works with the Executive Director to determine the mission, purpose, and priorities of the organization.

    • Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure efficient, effective support of SCC's mission.

    • Translate high-level mission goals into actionable operational objectives.

    • Manage organizational systems, processes, and policies across SCC's committee structure.

    • Strengthen internal workflows and cross-department collaboration

    • Partner with executive leadership to implement strategic plans and improve operational performance.

    • Ensure compliance with legal, financial, and regulatory requirements.

    • Develop and manage operational budgets and monitor expenses.

  • The Director of Physical Events brings SCC's mission to life through impactful, in-person experiences. This role leads the strategy, planning, and execution of fundraising and mission-driven events, building and maintaining strong partnerships and memorable moments that engage members, strengthen community, and drive meaningful impact.



    Job Responsibilities


    • Provides expertise to the Board of Governors and committees in the planning and execution of events.

    • Manages volunteers and vendors in all phases of the event to ensure flawless efficiency.

    • Works with the Director of Operations to maintain all events are insured with the appropriate insurance licenses based on the states and countries policies the events are conducted in. 

    • Maintains event budgets and reports them to the Director of Business Development. 

    • Oversees the post-event coordination including but not limited to debrief meetings, event recaps to attendees and stakeholders, financial reporting, and data transfer.

    • Informs and updates staff members and other involved parties throughout the event cycle.

    • Collaborates with the event operations committee to support event volunteers on the day of the event.

  • The Director of Virtual Events crafts unforgettable online experiences that bring SCC's mission to life. This role blends strategy, storytelling, and technology to engage members, spark excitement, and turn virtual gatherings into meaningful impact, building community and driving philanthropic momentum across the digital space.



    Job Responsibilities

    • Lead virtual program strategy that advances the nonprofit’s mission and educational goals.

    • Manages virtual event volunteers to ensure all phases of the event operates with flawless efficiency.

    • Plan and produce engaging online programs, workshops, and community events.

    • Partner with creative team to shape content, storytelling, and audience engagement.

    • Manage virtual platforms and production logistics to ensure high-quality, accessible experiences.

    • Evaluate program impact and participation data to continuously improve virtual events.

  • The Director of Community Engagement sparks meaningful connections and conversations that bring SCC's mission to life. This role inspires participation, nurtures partnerships, and maintains a vibrant, inclusive presence across all SCC social platforms where members, volunteers, and stakeholders come together to create lasting impact.



    Job Responsibilities

    • Develop and lead community engagement strategies that strengthen relationships with members, volunteers, partners, and stakeholders.

    • Create an SCC newsletter that aligns with organization's mission statement that identifies relevant topics, stories, and updates meaningful to the community.

    • Create a volunteer team that adds support to SCC programming & ideates best practices to keep the community engaged.

    • Build and nurture partnerships with community organizations, local leaders, and mission-aligned groups

    • Serve as a visible ambassador for the organization, representing SCC across all platforms.

    • Collaborate with the leadership team to align engagement efforts with organizational goals.

    • Gather community feedback and insights to inform programs, messaging, and strategic decisions.

    • Manage engagement metrics and evaluate the impact of community initiatives.

    • Promote a welcoming, inclusive culture that reflects SCC's values and mission.

  • The Director of Social Media amplifies SCC's mission through innovative storytelling and engaging digital experiences. This role leads strategy and community engagement across platforms, turning programs, events, and impact stories into compelling narratives that inspire action, build connection, and grow a vibrant online community.


    The Director partners closely with the Creative Director, Director of Community Engagement, and the SCC leadership team to ensure every post reflects the organization’s values, creativity, and impact.



    Role/Responsibilities:


    • Own SCC’s social presence: Plan and manage publishing content across SCC’s social channels (e.g., Instagram, Slack, LinkedIn), keeping messaging consistent with SCC’s mission and voice.

    • Manage Social Volunteers: Work with team of volunteers to develop posting calendar for individual channels.

    • Grow and engage the community: Respond to comments/messages, encourage conversation, and use thoughtful outreach and collaboration to increase followers and boost engagement.

    • Ideate and execute: Work with the Creative team to develop engaging content that is both timely and interesting for each channel.

  • As the Strategic Partnerships Manager, you will work directly with the Director of Business Development and the Executive Director to provide support to current partners. Once a brand joins the SCC family, you take the lead to ensure they are integrated, happy, and seeing a return on their investment. You are responsible for managing the health and longevity of the relationship, ensuring that SCC delivers on its promises and that partners become long-term advocates for our community.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Partner Onboarding: Lead the hand-off process once a contract is signed, ensuring the partner feels welcomed and informed.

    • Benefit Fulfillment: Act as the internal project manager to ensure logos are placed, social posts go live, and event activations are executed flawlessly.

    • Relationship Management: Maintain regular pulse checks and communications with partners, sharing SCC wins and upcoming events and opportunities.

    • Renewal & Expansion: Monitor partner satisfaction and lead the renewal process to ensure long-term commitment.


    Time Commitment

    • Minimum of 5 hours per week

    • Flexible schedule; fully remote

    • Qualifications

    • No formal experience required

    • Interest in sports, creativity, or community-building is essential

    • Familiarity with sales, partnerships, or outreach is a plus

    • Knowledge of the sports creative industry or SCC community is a strong bonus

    • Strong communication skills and comfort reaching out to new contacts
